Sail Classics

The Sail Classics Collection is a continuing work with the focus on American designs. They work with organizations such as the Herreshoff Museum, Marshall Marine, Beetle Inc and many more to provide accurate display models of some of the most famous designs on the past century at affortable prices.

Sail Classics sailboat models are all hand-made with plank-on-bulkhead construction, built by skilled craftsmen. The lacquer finish on each boat is hand rubbed to a glossy mirror-like finish. Each boat comes with easy assembly instructions and a wooden stand to display it on.

Cape Cod Catboat     $229.00
The Cape Cod Catboat is one of a very few that is closely associated with a specific geographic area. Developed for the fishing and lobstering conditions along the Massachusetts cape, the catboat was the boat of choice of fisherman in the region because of it's ability to work in shallow waters with strong tides. Today, the Cape Cod catboat is more of a racing and cruising yacht. "If there is truly and American vessel -- mind you I don't say rig -- that deserves being described as a National type, it is the catboat."

Gar Wood Speedster     $239.00
In 1934, with the popularity of their new 16 ft. runabouts, Gar Wood developed an experimental 16 footer with the cockpit aft and the forward cockpit deck over. The prototype was named the "Speedster" and the name stuck. Gar's brother Phil took this sporty new design as his own so he could fully test it out. Over the next few years, only a handful were made making this one of the rarest models in the market today.
